What’s brewing?

So what’s going on with the future of Phillipian Online?

Right now, there are two big things on our agenda: video and Pulse.

We’re looking to build up a group of people interested in being videographers for the Phillipian Online. These people will be in charge of taking short clips from various events on campus including concerts and speeches to be posted on the Phillipian Online.

The Phillipian is also exploring the possibility of having short video previews of Friday’s issue. These would be segments released on Wednesday or Thursday to pique interest in the Phillipian.

Our hopes are to get a couple videos up by the end of this year.

So what’s Pulse?

Andover Pulse is a new form of news driven by the community.

The idea behind Pulse is that it serves as a constant feed of news, ideas, and media generated by the Phillips Academy community — an ongoing dialogue of students, parents, alumni, and teachers.

Anyone can go and submit to the Andover Pulse to have it be seen by the Phillips Academy community.

We want bite-sized information flowing through the Pulse whether its in the form of photos, short videos, small reflections, announcements or recordings.

We’ll be starting Andover Pulse this coming Fall (Update: We’ve pushed Pulse back temporarily to focus on Phillipian Video).

Interested in either of these initiatives? Send in an email to eouyang.
